FAQ:
What is the difference between a DVD and Blu-ray transfer?
A DVD holds 2-4 hours and a Blu-ray holds 10-20 hours (about 5 times more content than DVD) The end quality will be the same on both types of discs which is the quality
of your original tape. Note that Blu-ray requires a Blu-ray player but a DVD will play on both a Blu-ray and a DVD player BUT most people only have DVD players so DVD is usually more compatible. Some of our customers that had a large amount of tapes used the Blu-ray format which required only about 20% of the DVD's that would be required. (i.e. 100 x 2 hr. VHS tapes = 200 hrs. = about 50 DVD's or about 10 Blu-rays)

How long does it take?
Usually 1-3 working weeks depending on how many tapes you have and our work load.

What if the videotape breaks?
tape splicing and repair 8.00

Can I have my transfer put on different formats
We can transfer your videos directly to a USB memory stick (Flash drive) and/or DVD/Blu-ray. Note that all forms of storage have pros & cons. Having files backed up 2 different methods and in 2 different locations is the safest way of storage for irrreplaceable files.

How can I have my tapes transferred in order if I don't have a vcr to preview them?
If you can number the tapes it is best -otherwise we will go by any dates written on the labels or in the video at begining of tapes and assign a tape # to each. If order is important we can tape a quick tv low res image from each tape & email them to you that you could use to tell us the order (cost is $10 setup + $2/tape).

Can I copy bought movies to DVD?
We cannot transfer/copy copyrighted material. Our equipment will not record material that is copyrighted with a copyright signal encoded into the video such as retail bought movies.

What video formats do you transfer?
We transfer VHS, VHSC, SVHS, Betamax, 8mm, Hi8, Digital 8 and miniDV formats. We can also transfer from cameras that use internal hard drives, DVD-R and Flash memory (additional set-up may apply when not from videotapes). Please contact us first on these non-tape formats if you have any questions.

How do I get the tapes to you?
Please call us at 806-477-9411 to arrange for dropping of your job or for our shipping address. We can give you an estimate before proceeding with your job.

FAQ:
How do I estimate how much film I have?

A 3 inch 8mm diameter reel is 50 feet. Many people spliced their film onto larger reels. Common large reels are 5 inch 8mm diameter holding 200 feet and 7 inch 8mm diameter reel holding 400 feet of film. 16mm films will have the length engraved on the metal reel.

Do you transfer sound film and what about miusic background?
Yes we transfer super 8 sound film. The sound will be transfered also to the DVD at no extra charge. We do not transfer regular 8mm sound film (this type is very rare). We add an easy listening instrumental music background to silent standard 8 and silent super 8 at no extra charge (
important info & hear sample) Of course standard 16mm optical sound will have the sound transferred.

How long does it take?
Usually 2-4 weeks depending on how many films you have and our work load. We will contact you when your job is completed for payment and pickup or shipping.
